On any other day, I would be attacking Cheney and Kinzinger for being conservative hacks. Their views on almost every other policy position are diametrically opposed to mine. The only thing they have going for them is courage to put the law above partisanship.

Republicans are not hostages, not even "willing hostages". The more we find out about the plan to overturn the election, the more we find out that Republicans willingly participated in the project. They are accomplices. They wanted to overturn the legitimate election. Some got scared when the plan failed and have tried to distance themselves, but they all knew what was going on. They would have been just fine if the election had actually been overturned.
