5. the word 'gatekeeper' caught my eye

and it says something I think interesting and important. I think many of us believe that, for better or worse (and I think this is open for rigorous debate), there use to be such a thing, and a certain purpose was served by having such. With the internet (and Jeff, and Mark, and Bill) - it is entirely about what sells - and the entire concept of gatekeeper is not only outdated, but in large part repudiated. And ultimately, WE bear the responsibility for that. Rogan is the problem he is today (and hardly he alone) because we are willing to spend our money with him. You cannot forever keep selling the idea that this is brainwashing and misinformation (however-much it is pure dreck). This is our fellow citizens voting with their dollars and purchases.
