Someone can fall and still win. That was the case for the Russian male skater who won the free skate in the team competition. But Valiyeva didn't execute nearly any of her jumps well. As a result, she bled points. She still got 4th, which isn't bad, except if you're Russian. And she was expected to win gold because of her remarkable talent.
