what a person (means) when they do differs according to the ideals of that person.
For many a right winger it's meaningless jingoism and a chance to feel a part of a bigger
group - much like a sports chant. That said, I'm sure for those who post here -
it's more likely to mean liberty and equality and one person one vote, etc.

I get what you're saying but for too long the right wing has claimed
to be patriots and implied that democrats are somehow not real Americans.

Sometimes to communicate with most people who aren't politically savvy or political junkies
like many of us here, it is necessary to employ symbolism. All the world's a stage...
