5. I have a gripe about my former Tarheel state,

in the West on I-40. I have lived in CA for 45 years but rented a house in NC to care for my mom before she died. Anyway …

There was not much traffic on the freeway, certainly compared to here on the CA central coast, but people tailgated like crazy! I’d be going the speed limit in the slow lane, with almost no cars around (everything is relative) and so often a car would sit on my rear for no reason before deciding finally to pass. At first I thought it was a one-off, a crazy driver, then a two-off, but it kept happening.

Here, people tailgate in heavy trafffic, but not when there isn’t.

Weird.
