Complaint: The card asks for dates of birth, I see this as an Identity Theft Issue or Fraud. There is also no direct contact information, only a PO Box.
This card was given to me by elderly male who received it in the mail from your company. He was concerned that it was a fraud or scam. I am an Elder Service Officer assigned a Senior Center. In addition to the 2 other complaints already received on this company, I have a big problem with asking for the date of birth for the person it was mailed to and for that person's spouse. This information could be used to commit Identity Theft or a scam. I do not think it is necessary for the company to ask for this information. It is obvious that they already know this person is a senior, otherwise they would not have sent this info to them in the first place. Also, there is no phone number, street address, or website information which makes this card seem fraudulent. As a Police Officer with additional training as an Elder Service Officer, not having this contact information usually are clear signs that it is a scam.
Business Response
The advertisement is not a scam, it is for life insurance. Listing the DOB is optional, however it assists us in preparing accurate rate quotes. We are researching different methods of gathering this information in a more private manor. We are also putting together ideas for a web address. This takes time and a considerable amount of resources for our small business to cover.
I hope this helps and thank you for your concern.
Complaint Resolution: Company addressed the complaint issues. The consumer failed to acknowledge acceptance to BBB.
