not only because Trump admires Putin for being a powerful, cruel, and ruthless leader who cares about no one but himself, but also because Trump drools over Putin's riches and sees him as someone who could loan him a few hundred million dollars.

Don't know why I only just realized this. I guess I was focusing on Trump's demented "daddy issues" and not on his never-ending quest to turn a quick buck.
