In reply to the discussion: Marco Rubio's daughter injured in car accident [View all]Ghost in the Machine
(14,912 posts)from my house. I had my police scanner on, and just about 5 minutes later heard a call come over for first responders and ambulances to "Four Corners", a 4 way stop intersection from my house about 3 miles away, for a "two car 46" ( two vehicle accident with injuries). I started thinking "Oh god! I hope it's not them!" A minute later, a first responder was reporting to the ambulance driver he had two patients: a 17 y/o female driver and 18 y/o male passenger, who just recently had knee surgery. My heart stopped for a minute. At the same time, a friend called me and said "You need to get up to 4 corners NOW, your son is laying out in the middle of the road"!
I totally lost it then... called my sister, and my parents, then hauled ass up there in the pouring down rain. By the time I got there, they had my son in the back of the ambulance, but were still working on my niece inside the car. After making sure my son was okay, i went to the car to check on my niece. She was dazed, and asking for her mom. About that time, my sister and parents pulled up... my sister got half-way to the car and froze up. I had to reassure her that her daughter was ok, and was asking for her.
That was one SCAREY night I'll never forget. My heart goes out to Sen. Rubio and his family. Once again, best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to his daughter.
Peace,
Ghost
