In reply to the discussion: I find myself becoming increasingly hawkish with respect to Ukraine [View all]AntiFascist
(13,753 posts)102. I agree with your post, except...
European nations will be the ones most vulnerable to Russia's use of limited tactical nukes, therefore, I feel they should be the ones making this decision, with our full support to back them up of course.
For the US to take full control of the situation would be playing into Putin's narrative and possibly stir up additional support for him.

We aren't talking about giving the Ukrainians more weapons. We are talking about NATO escalation.

If NATO sends in troops, I believe that Putin will use tactical nuclear weapons which are legal.

My rationale for us getting involved is this: Putin will not stop unless US and NATO make him stop

I don't see as proving Ukraine with weapons, supplies, intelligence, etc. as appeasing Putin.

Putin took Crimea without consequence. Now he demands that NATO not admit Ukraine...

Ukraine will not become a NATO country because there are NATO countries that won't vote them in.

So, let Vlad take over any country he wants because you *think* he *might* use nukes?
