I know this community well. I lived there many years ago and still have some ongoing projects in the area.

The curfew came about after some shocking violence but it was the straw that broke the camels back. Spring break crowds have been out of control for decades but the post covid rebound has been even worse. Add guns to the mix and Miami Beach said "enough"

In truth, everyone hates spring breakers. The hot spots routinely move around because the cities get so fed up with them that they change the rules to move them along somewhere else. The crowds in Miami Beach have included more people of color in recent years but that isn't the issue. The kids are just out of control after being locked up for several years. The City did what they could to control them and it five people still ended up in the hospital.
