(6,115 posts)It's what the Rs have been doing and promise to keep doing if they should take over the Senate again. McConnell has blatantly said this himself.
They are packing the courts with political hacks who are there to do their bidding. Just look at the recent SCOTUS rulings and you'll see their activist judges are doing their political will for them, since they don't have majorities in either chamber.
And they have the GALL to criticize any judicial decision that doesn't go their way as "activist." They have the GALL to scream and whine about court-packing, when that's what they've been doing all along.
How the Democrats can't see this and DO SOMETHING is beyond me, man. I am sick and tired of them "playing fair." They need to get in the mud and wrestle with this pig.
The SCOTUS should have 15 term-limited justices. You serve for 20 years and you're done, thank you for your service. When your term is up, whoever is president appoints your replacement. It'll be done on a rotating bases so it's a crap-shoot regarding whether the replacement will be appointed by a D or an R. It's the only way to bring back legitimacy to the SCOTUS. Right now their reputation is in the toilet, and it's because of court-packing.
And I'm still pissed that Obama allowed McConnell to push him around with Garland. Garland would have made a fine SCOTUS justice. Obama could have pushed back and went ahead with the nomination. Of course it would have ended in the courts but constitutionally, Obama was on firm ground and McConnell was not. Now that McConnell got away with it, he'll do it again and again if he can. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
