(63,221 posts)I never panicked too much when I lived in Manhattan because I always felt fairly safe and that provisions were easily at hand. But this one could be worse than anything I have experienced. I would definitely stock up and stay inside until everything blows over. I am not sure where you are from, but chances are you will not be able to get back home for at least a few days.
I am now in Boston on the 8th floor of an apartment building (Charles River Park - right in back of Mass. General Hospital). Our offices were closed today, but I am fearing that it could get worse. I have never really taken these things seriously before, so I am not quite sure how to react. I have the TV and the internet for now. MGH will have generators is things get really bad so I can always go there.
