(60,169 posts)28. All those tall buidlings make the streets perfect wind tunnels.
If I were there with you, I would NOT use the elevator..hate to be stuck in one if the power suddenly went out.
And big windows can and do break...I remember seeing the pics of the hotels down here after a hurricane, windows WERE smashed, curtains hanging out of them, and not all the damage was on the water side of the building.
an amazing number of objects go flying in those powerful winds.

If the wind's strong enough to howl, it may be strong enough to break a window at that height.
