The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights of the United States are more than just a bunch of words that represent a bunch of ideas. Our founding documents express above all the idea that a democratic republic is possible when the People are free to discover, know, express and share the truth. Thus, Amendment I, IMO the most revolutionary truth ever expressed:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
