You can be thrown in jail immediately and have your car or boat or house confiscated because a trace of an illegal drug is found, whether you had anything to do with how it got to wherever it was found or not.

But apparently sedition and contempt of Congress and the Hatch Act and bribing public officials and the Emoluments clause and all that... well, those things are complicated, you see.

Unless the authorities have ten times the evidence needed to convict an ordinary person in court, you aren't even arrested or charged.
