15. Not sure we have an effective response that is not WW3. We would win, but at a huge cost

Short of nuclear war, given what we have seen from the RU military against a much less capable country so far, once we/NATO brought sufficient force to the region, RU forces on the ground, sea and in the air would be decimated. We would have not insignificant losses too. That would bring Putin to the "existential threat" red line he and other RU officials refer to as a trigger for going nuclear. Yes, our submarine nukes would be the ultimate deterrent Putin could not readily mitigate or counter but that is waaaayyyy down a road we don't want to be on. And while the US may survive with some damage, the EU would likely be devastated, physically and economically. Not sure we could put Humpty Dumpster back together again for quite some time. A dangerous game Putin has sucked the world into.
