My mom and my wife are both "pro-life" in the Catholic tradition but have always recognized that life can be a horrible messy business.

When things go wrong nature herself (or any god you choose) is the abortionist. More than half of all fertilized eggs are deemed unworthy by nature and disposed of without fanfare.

Alas, there are some problems nature doesn't discern, be they biological or social.

Nature is cruel. She only cares about the kids who live long enough to reproduce.

Some religions embrace this cruel reality, no matter the trauma.

Let the devil take them.
