Two years ago I started to wear a mask before the CDC recommendation.

I'm vaxed and boosted, feel protected from serious illness, but I KNOW masking is the best way to contain the spread of covid, and the flu, and the common cold. I have a good friend who is not vaccinated. I am more fearful for her safety, but she wears a mask too.

I work retail 3 days a week, and encounter visitors and tourists from all over. I've continued to wear a mask, although my bosses and other employees have stopped. I'd say 20-30% of customers still do, some put one on when they see I'm masked. I've also noticed over the last year, when cases rise more people wear them, and then stop when numbers go down. I think some people give in to peer pressure to take their mask off, although it can also help to keep them on.

Last week I had a customer ask if I was vaxed and boosted (inappropriate) but I said yes, and he told me I didn't need to wear my mask. I told him I was exposed to covid last weekend (I was masked during the service) and was advised to wear one so I don't spread it, even if I'm asymptomatic. I think that may be my standard response. His eyes got wide.

Enjoy the woods. I spend a lot of time outside in my garden, a bit in the woods too.
My 4 days off, Friday thru Monday, I mostly keep to myself. Now that spring is here there will be more outdoor socializing, which I look forward to in spurts. There's an outdoor event this Sunday, and they're calling for rain. Oh well...
