I had applied for it on 2/15/22. I was following the city's election prep status updates on the City Commissioners' website as they slogged along and when I saw this - https://www.philadelphiavotes.com/en/home/item/2106-2022-general-candidates-with-button-numbers I knew they were finally getting close (because obviously that is what would also be printed on the ballots) -

With all the insanity about the loon Commonwealth Court judge's ruling about Act-77 and the stay on that by the state Supreme Court (basically allowing the Primary to go forward with the mail-in ballots), as I understand, the apparent hold-up had to do with the state legislative redistricting which took a long time. They had give notice to candidates running for those seats since some had to switch districts (and were given the go-ahead to start getting their nominating petitions in order), plus we had some re-jiggering of the lines for our own Councilmanic Districts, and finally all the candidates needed to be assigned ballot positions/numbers.
