It may very well have been leaked for malign right-wing purposes, and in any event probably made the situation worse by discouraging the current majority justices from dissenting or softening their positions. It certainly didn’t improve anything; the outcome will likely be the same, the only difference being that we found out a few weeks sooner than we would have otherwise. If it was leaked to help the pro-choice position, why wasn’t it leaked back in February when it was written?
