If corporations (let's use the "C" corporation - for profit) must maximize profits and not worry about the cost to society, then they are acting sociopathically and should be isolated, perhaps imprisoned.

Of course we don't treat the C-suite of these corporations or even the boards as instruments of this sociopathy. They are hide themselves behind their monster that can cause all the damage.
