And most "Central" Europeans are annoyed by it too...

Like Austria and Slovakia... 99% of people think Austria= Western Europe and Slovakia = Eastern Europe... except that the only thing separating the two countries is the Danube... 25 miles from Bratislava to Vienna.

Some use Eastern European as a pejorative...

Every Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Pole I've ever met thinks of themselves as "Central Europe" which is probably accurate since the European/Asian border line is thousands of miles to the East.
