I'm a 73 year old Boomer, and I can recall lots of fellow Boomers saying they saw no point in saving for the future. All too often they'd simply assume they'd die before retirement, with absolutely no basis for thinking so. Surprise, surprise. Most people live significantly longer than they think they will.
