(46,143 posts)Typically, denaturalization cases are referred to DOJ by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) when they believe there is sufficient evidence to support denaturalization. I suppose a non-government entity could file a "complaint" with the USCIS or otherwise present evidence, but the USCIS would still have to decide whether to refer the case to the DOJ.
The bigger problem is that the grounds upon which someone can be denaturalized are very narrow and the bar for pursuing denaturalization is very high. So notwithstanding the Schmidt's tweet, the possibility of a denaturalization proceeding being commenced against Murdoch, let alone succeeding, is approximately zero.
