I used to think people who wished to have long guns for hunting or handguns for target practice should have to go through background checks, licensing, maybe to pass classes, not unlike drivers who must to be allowed to take to the road. The right would have considered me too liberal; I considered myself reasonable and a member of the American majority. That person is gone, having lived through too, too many of these. Follow Australia’s lead. Get rid of all guns. Repeal the Second Amendment. Republicans, like the assholes Tillis and Cruz, warn Dems not to react to Uvalde? Screw them! Like these deaths, my radicalization is on them.
