12. What exactly about masculinity is under attack?

I am a man. I have been an athlete (including boxing training). I have been in fights in my life, though the last one was many decades ago, because I am a grown ass man. I can work with tools and fix stuff on my car, and build stuff. I know about sports, etc...

I am not necessarily an "ultra masculine" man, but I consider myself to have many traits that would be considered masculine.

SO, I ask all of these idiots, What the fuck are you even talking about that masculinity is under attack?!?

I certainly do not feel under attack. I don't feel ashamed or confused or anything about being a man.

What I know HAS been under attack RIGHTFULLY is the way that some men can be sexist and misogynistic. That there are men out their who advocate and perpetrate violence against women and chalk it up to "boys will be boys". That there are men out their who degrade women, who degrade gay men, who use comparisons to women and gay men as insults. People like Whitlock who use "pansy" which is both a flower and an insult based on perceived femininity, are what have been under attack - idiots who don't understand that men have to be better than they were when sexism was more socially acceptable. Men who cannot adapt to changing times.
