We would have thought the voters of Iowa were smarter. Not only did they send him to Washington as a US Senator, they kept sending him back and back and back and back and back...

Now he has popped up in a very interesting story. It seems that because of his seniority, he becomes "pro temp" president of the Senate, if the VP is absent.

It is reported that just before the January 6th attack upon our Capitol, he had made comments that he did not expect VP Pence to count the electoral votes on January 6th? Why would he say that? Did he know something was afoot?

Also, it has been reported that after VP Pence had been escorted out of the Capitol, the Secret Service attempted to get him in a car to remove him from the Capitol premises. Reportedly he said, "I'm not getting in that car."

The question arises. Was the plan to remove Pence from the Capitol so that Senator Grassley could lead the counting of the Electoral Votes?

If this account is true, it indicates that the conspiracy to overthrow the election went higher than Senator Grassley? Did Mitch McConnell know about it? Did Donald Trump know about it? Although we have long suspected that to be the case, this would be the proof in the pudding.
