5. Deals are most likely being cut right now.

The GOP knows half of their congressional members were involved in 1/6.

There is no way they are going to let the DOJ take down that many people, and there is no way the DOJ wants to take down half of the US congress.

This is how Washington DC works: when a crisis occurs, behind the scenes, quiet negotiations take place amongst the major power brokers.

Some sacrificial lambs will be offered up, promises made, deals cut.

Then the public kabuki theater takes place.
