I once believed that LEOs were around to actually "protect and serve" the people they lived near, and shopped with, and policed.

The most well-armed and protected police force in the world is constitutionally mandated to PROTECT THE "STATE" (city, county, state and federal govts) and KEEP THE PEACE.

If they happen to help a private person with some issue, or not, then that is a moral choice they make.

As decided, written and proclaimed for all to read, the Supreme Court of the US wrote this:

"the "state" has no legal duty to protect an individual life against private violence".

Google it and go read it yourself or ask a lawyer.

LEO's do not have a legal duty to protect your life and personal property. YOU have the responsibility to protect your life and personal property to the best of your abilities. This is one of the reasons for the right's so vehemently protecting their constitutional right to bear arms. Another reason the right uses this is the programmed, indoctrinated, propagandized fear of ANY government entity "coming for their guns" - which would remove an ability or tool to protect themselves from private violence since the "state" doesn't have a legal duty to do it.

Once you understand this Supreme Court decision, then everything else should begin to fall in place.
