Death threats to county commission candidates [View all]
My second OP of the evening about my Democratic Women's Club chapter meeting today. Here's the first:

One of the many guests in our audience today was a young woman who had recently filed to run for county commission. She is one of 2 Democrats to file in the last week for different districts.
Both withdrew their candidacies before the week was out.
Why?
This woman said she was getting threatening phone calls every 10 minutes from the moment she filed her paperwork. Then, members of the "Club 45" group started driving to her house and harassing her 2 children, ages 5 and 7.
She withdrew her candidacy. She acknowledged that she should have gone to police but she is a mother of 2 young children. The other candidate, a young man with young children, experienced the same.
Again, this is a ruby red county. These Democrats had little to no chance of succeeding but at least they were trying. Still, the psychopaths couldn't even let them run.
