"But it's a dry heat!" I lived in Tucson for over 10 years. I found that even during the hottest part of the day, it was tolerable as long as you weren't in direct sunlight. If the sun was beating down on you, you could feel it sapping your energy. I never understood how people could work outside in that heat in direct sunlight.
