(15,587 posts)Laz has Long COVID; since March of 2020, he had seizures and short bouts of brain fog (we call them Bobs so the kids had a concept to describe what was going on that wouldn't scare or frustrate them). His driver's license was pulled until he could go six months without symptoms
We thought it was under control between therapy and meds since last December, but then he caught Omicron four weeks ago (forgot to wear a mask at a public event, as he was boosted and thought he was still safe).
His first return seizure was May 30, and his Bobs are back. There went permission to drive again. His independence has been snatched away from him.
His Neurologist can't see him until September, so he's going to spend all summer without any further tests or changes in treatment that could alleviate his Bobs or give him hope.
Long COVID can't be cured.
And yes, we have the "Best medical service in the world".
