Yes, I think it's been the most difficult thing to get used to since having to live in Texas. That the subject never comes up. At family gatherings and social events. And if I ever tried, I get faced with dead silence. it's almost like not a polite thing to bring up. But I think it's weird as hell that something huge like say January 6th is never even discussed at all.
