Last night (Thursday) the Senate PASSED the gun control bill. [View all]

After 10 years of working on this I'm almost in tears.

It's not that the bill is all that great. In fact it falls far short of having a major impact on the source of the problem: the availability of guns.

The good news is that Mitch McConnell finally recognized that there are more of us than them. A lot more. Enough to replace him and all the bought and paid for gun worshipers.

We did this. The NRA is still spending like crazy, the gun humpers are still screaming and the militias are still threatening. Not enough to out weigh March for Our Lives, Moms Demand Action, Everytown for Gun Safety, Gabby Giffords and all of us who marched in the streets.

WE WON. For the first and for Goddam sure not the last WE WON.
