He responds to a call to end climate silence...by continuing climate silence. He looks awkward and unable to address the challenge put before him. He ignores a major elephant that has just entered the room.

It goes against a principle I learned in theatre. If some major disruption happens--if something knocks over or some other onstage event takes place that you weren't anticipating and which is obvious to the audience, you deal with it smoothly and in character. Otherwise the audience devotes a lot of their attention to thinking about the unaddressed disruption rather than what you're trying to get across to them. Romney missed that opportunity.

This clip isn't a game changer but it is a powerful illustrative tool. I think this is a time that a good portion of folks may be willing to acknowledge the reality and implications of climate change.
