To get his tiny hands on the steering wheel he would have had to lunge from the back seat, over a rear facing seat, through an narrow opening to the front compartment which can be closed by a plexiglass partition. I believe it happened, but that is a long distance for a sedentary 300 pound 74 year old to go. He must have been in an absolute rage.

My wife thinks he planned to go to the Capitol, where an armed mob would crown him king. Whatever he planned at the Capitol, he didnt want to be deprived of it.
