Witness after witness shared stories of someone completely divorced from reality, incapable of listening to anyone and completely unwilling to accept the most obvious facts. Apparently, Trump only pays attention to the voices in his head, the ones telling him exactly what he wants to hear.

I don't envy Garland's decision. Increasingly we're being left with the impression Trump is unhinged, and a potential trial would turn into a Captain Queeg-like spectacle, with Trump on the stand rolling steel balls around in his hand, babbling incoherently about the missing strawberries (or in his case, the stolen election).
