difference between an egg and a sperm...and we have men and women, yin and yang, and it takes both. The ancients worshiped a Divine Father and a Divine Mother, in differing forms of ascendancy based on lineage or culture. But it's short of a Divine Big Bang coming on the scene...which doesn't have a warm ring to it.

So, we're likely stuck with those who are able to give birth and those who can't but protect those who can as a basic separation of genders and attributes and procreation of the species. The realities of Sun and Moon, Day and Night, inner and outer, negative and positive construct a continuum, not a dyad.
