2. After we lost our first child

I got to know a lot of families in loss situations.

One universal thing from women I came in contact with who found out that their babies (wanted, planned-for) had conditions incompatible with life, was that continuing to be pregnant (even if they chose to continue) was torturous. People, with the best of intentions would ask them about the baby, about when they were due, what they had chosen for names, and it all felt like torture.

They talked about how it was hard to tell people, but hard not to talk about it, but if you did, people didn't know how to handle it.

Women deserve to make their own choices. In every situation.
