In reply to the discussion: Absolutely The Most Brutal Ad So Far... 'Mitt vs. Sandy'.... Holy Shit this is Good [View all]unc70
(6,501 posts)People in places like NC understand about hurricanes, the aftermath, Federal responses,... From a couple anecdotal examples i know of here in NC involving hard-core Republican middle-aged white males now disgusted with Romney, something about Mitt's behavior the last 10 days particularly regarding Sandy, coupled with his previous statements, seems to have reached a tipping point.
This ad is good, climate change point is valid, but emphasis on preparation, role of government, about responding to all in need.
The Obama campaign will probably find just the right tone.
Bill Clinton is coming to NC. He needs to speak to this and explain it to those who have been leaning Romney, but might be concerned at prospect of Romney responding to the next "Sandy". In one of my anecdotes in NC, they described Romney as not knowing how to do anything useful, just a phony prancing around up there giggling. We know it is nothing to laugh about.
Clinton also needs to tie McCrory to Romney tightly. His smile is irritating to a lot of people, too. Much the same: no tax returns, no details of tax or spending plans, social agenda, questionable ethics, fake smile and laugh, ... Might be too late for Dalton, but our GOTV should get it closer than polls.
