I teach in a Title 1 school. I spent 21 years on Active Duty as an Army officer and this will be my 21st year in a high school. I am fed up with administration, lack of parent involvement, kids that disrupt the learning process daily that Admin never deals with. New standards every year and mountains of work for poor pay even with three Master's degrees. I know it's time to go and life will be better and my wife and kids will be happy that I'm no longer grumpy and mad at the school system. Between the Army and teaching, 42 years of public service to my nation is enough. Time to retire. travel with my wife, fly fish when I want to, more backpacking on the Appalachian Trail and learn how to play the bagpipes!
