10. There was nothing wrong with Kerry windsurfing

Seriously, Bush was gathering brush every vacation, then coming out bruised - either from that or falling off his mountain bike.

If the media would have liked Kerry, the half day wind surfing during the Republican convention would have been seen as good, clean, fun, on a beautiful Nantucket day, with Teresa and reporters - all smiling - on the boat and an athletic, healthy looking candidate getting some exercise. ( It likely did help him avoid a whisper campaign that he was unhealthy - he was treated for cancer a year and a half before and was still thinner than he was before or after 2004) He spent the rest of the day practicing for the first debate.

It is amazing that a country that worships athletics made fun of this and made it seem elitist and non-athletic. In fact, it is less expensive than Bush's country club golf was.
