The FBI followed right along with the Red Scare and never investigated right wing extremists during the 50's 60's 70's 80's etc. So they are johnny come latelies as far as intel goes on the right wing reactionaries.
One group from the Left investigated the FBI during a break-in in a town ironically called Media, Pa. Their findings show the FBI was engaged in surveillance 97% of the time, not crime fighting. It also showed extreme bias toward investigating the Left about 19 to 1 ratio IIRC.
