from being in CA-45 to being in CA-47. The incumbent is changing from Democrat Alan Lowenthal to fellow Democrat Katie Porter. In fact the change might have already happened. Katie Porter, who had represented the 45th district since 2019, was re-elected with 53.5% of the vote in the 2020 election. Lowenthal is retiring at the end of this term, so he is out of the picture anyway. For the upcoming November election, CA-47 has 2 candidates that I know of: Katie Porter (D) and Scott Baugh (R). So if she wins, she will be the Congressperson representing CA-47. You might want to verify this with her office. I agree with you that this information is far too difficult to find. And that's probably by design. It should be transparent and easy to find.
