(2,234 posts)Hubster and I have both had a couple nasty respiratory bugs but consistently tested negative. We are obsessive maskers, only go to restaurants or clubs when cases are less than 50 per 100,000.
I almost got caught in a superspreader event in the spring. Cases were low when this event, which was outdoors, was planned, but exploded the week of the event. Just my luck, good or bad, take your pick, I fractured my shoulder three days before the event so didnt attend. Ten percent of the attendees caught Covid, about fifty people. They were all vaccinated, since that was a requirement to attend, and everyone recovered without problems within a couple weeks.
Its a strange feeling to balance out whether getting Covid would have been worse than the fracture, subsequent surgery, and lengthy recovery.
