224. Will and I both joined DU in May of 2001.

We became friends on DU, and continued on Facebook. We both had roots in Alabama, which surprised some people. Will’s father was from Alabama, and had fought in Vietnam.

Will’s mother was here on DU, and still is, I presume. To her, to his wife, and to his daughter, I extend the deepest sympathy I can through my shock. I’ll try to muster proper sympathy later.

At one point, Will was going to visit me at the wilderness fire lookout tower in Oregon, but got married instead. They moved to a rural area of the Northeast, where - IIRC - his beloved daughter was born.

But this morning, on reading this, my mind has gone numb. This is a great shock, and I need to sort it out.

As William Rivers Pitt would most likely say, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK!
