Marjorie Taylor Greene's PAC is violating campaign finance rules: federal regulators [View all]
A leadership political action committee led by Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is under heightened scrutiny from federal officials because of what regulators say are financial discrepancies and an impermissible contribution.
Greene's Save America Stop Socialism PAC made several errors in its amended financial report from July, including calculation mistakes and inconsistencies with the committee's reported cash on hand, according to an October 19 letter the Federal Election Commission sent Greene's PAC.
The FEC also found that the Save America Stop Socialism PAC improperly sent $5,000 to help US House candidate J.R. Majewski's win his congressional primary election in Ohio.
FEC officials said Greene sent the money to Majewski's campaign after the primary ended, in violation of federal rules. Majewski, who's faced questions about his financial transparency and military service record, now faces Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur in one of the nation's tightest House races in November.
