Here in the small (approx 4M residents) southern coastal town of North Berwick where I live, the polls opened at 8:00 a.m. I was there at 7:30 a.m. & there were between 40 -50 folks already there. By the time I left after voting at about 8:10 a.m. the school parking lot was full and folks were already parking on the streets. I drove to work in Kennebunk & the town hall parking lot was full and all the parking places up & down Main Street were taken....this was at about 8:30 a.m. plenty of crowds on the sidewalks going to & from the town hall.

Here in Maine we were not badly impacted by Sandy, so no polling places had to be moved.

It was a very emotional moment for me as I voted for President Obama.....knowing that in the future I will be voting via absentee ballot since my husband & I will be retiring to Ireland as soon as we sell our house.......
