Maybe not your lone deactivation, but you aren't the only one deactivating their account now. I deactivated my (also rarely used) account last week, after I read a post about someone deactivating theirs. You can rest assured that there are many doing just what we have done and you can also rest assured that Musk is getting reports on the *exact* number.

To further stop supporting Twitter, I would suggest that any links or news articles etc. you post, to go straight to the source and link them from their news sites or whatever it may be rather than simply just linking the tweet you may have seen it from. Just start cutting out Twitter from your life whenever and wherever you can.
