Undoubtedly it would be better for Obama if I didn't vote at all, rather than vote against him; but elections aren't supposed to have the purpose of benefiting elected officials. Elected officials who run for a second term are going to be graded on the record of their first term, and rightly so. Therefore, if I decide to cast my vote against Obama, it will reflect principle and circumstance both. He got my vote the first time because he promised change from the Bush years. Once in officein numerous circumstanceshe represented anything but.
I'll listen to Obama's populist noises over the coming months and decide how convincing they are. But being told that I "have to" vote for him because a Republican would be worse is not enough to convince me that things will get better. And being told that I have to vote for him or else I am "disavowing my ability to vote" (whatever that means) just makes me laugh out loud.
Your views are not just anti-democratic, they are downright wacky. I doubt you have many 'liberal brethren' who share them. If this thread weren't long past being read by anyone, I would have alerted on you and your illiberal views.
